River Cruising scoop

I became a fan of river cruising when I discovered all the extras that are included in the price. To have the shore excursions included along with the free wine, beer, and soft drinks was an easy decision for me to make. Over the years, I have spent a small fortune on shore excursions and beverages on ocean cruises. I like the idea of no extra expenses where I can concentrate on having fun. I like the idea of less passengers too. Since I am no longer a young 20 something, I prefer a more intimate and quieter kind of cruise. And the ships, WOW is all I can say. I would like more people to get on the river cruising bandwagon. Imagine a cruise down the Mekong River in Cambodia, or a Nile River adventure. I have already decided on a cruise on the Yangtze River in China in the near future. I am totally hooked. Give me your thoughts on river cruising. We will compare notes.

Amsterdam and Tulips in Holland

Growing up I heard about coffee shops and girls in windows in Amsterdam. I had formed my opinion of what Amsterdam is like.  I soon found there is so much more than the famed red light district.  Amsterdam is full of museums.  Does the name Van Gogh ring a bell?  There is even a museum in the airport.   Since I like to eat, the cheese and chocolate shops are high on my to do list.  And who wouldn’t enjoy all the windmills, some right in the city of Amsterdam.  Tulips in Holland are a must see for me.  A visit to the tulip farms are absolutely beautiful and worth the trip.  When I was a little girl, my great aunt gave me a pair of wooden shoes she brought from Holland.  That got me hooked on Holland.  With miles and miles of canals in Amsterdam, who wouldn’t want to take a canal ride.
